Stephanie FitzSimon

Stephanie FitzSimon grew up in Vero Beach, FL with an avid love for theatre and all things
beautiful. A daughter of an artist and a marine biologist, she fostered her love of the arts
through school competitions, musicals, drawing, and blending historical and scientific interests
into her art and performances. She studied theatre and speech education and is classically trained
in theatrical scenic painting. In 2014, she began to write plays as a high school theatre and art
teacher in Central Texas due to a lack of funds for performance rights. This resulted in stacks of
scripts that allowed her students to be on stage without financial struggles. After switching schools
in 2018, she finally moved to a place with an auditorium and a budget, but the writing continued.
"Unwell" is her first competition One Act Play that was written for her students and their
struggles in life. It is a huge labor of love that highlights the thoughts in our heads and the words
from our mouths. She continues her high school teaching career of 16+ years and stays busy with her amazing students. Stephanie currently resides in Central Texas with her husband
and daughter and their 3 rescue dogs.
